Sweet, versatile and packed with nutritional value, what’s not to love about mangoes? Luckily for us, mangoes love our climate and we’ve been growing mangoes for many years, sharing all our avocado growing and processing expertise with this golden Aussie icon.
Simpson Farms manages 80 hectares of mango orchards established on three of the farms in the Childers area. We have many varieties in production – Calypso, R2E2, Honey Gold, Palmer, Keitt, Kent, Pearl – with a harvest period from December to February each year. The Mango variety Calypso is grown under licence to the Harvest Company.
Simpson Farms have stringent harvesting, handling and quality management systems to ensure that fruit quality is maintained from the field operations to the packing shed. Fruit is harvested by hand and transported carefully to our 4000m2 packing, cold storage and ripening facility.
Simpson Farms mangoes are stored in temperature-controlled rooms and packed into cardboard cartons with plastic inners for transport to market.
